Atypical with attitude, formerly Autism with attitude, was founded in 2017 by Jonathan, a passionate dancer who, like many of the team members, faced a world where opportunities for self-expression through dance were scarce. Determined to challenge this status quo, Jonathan set out to create a space where individuals of all abilities could come together to celebrate the joy of movement.

Despite the lack of opportunities and resources available, Jonathan's vision and unwavering dedication paved the way for AWA to become a beacon of inclusivity and empowerment within the dance community. With a committed team by his side, Jonathan transformed his dream into reality, providing a platform where dancers with neurodiverse conditions could thrive and shine.
 

Over the years, AWA has not only provided countless individuals with the chance to discover their passion for dance but has also played a pivotal role in raising awareness about the importance of inclusivity and accessibility in the arts. Through performances at prestigious venues and events, they've shattered stereotypes and challenged perceptions, proving time and again that talent knows no bounds.

AWA has been marked by triumphs and challenges alike, from achieving remarkable success at competitions like the 2018 UDO Championships in Blackpool to captivating audiences on BBC's "The Greatest Dancer" 2019. Each milestone has served as a testament to the resilience and talent of our dancers, as well as the profound impact of our mission.
